The 40th Anniversary Dalby Stock Horse Sale was held at the Dalby Showgrounds Complex, Nicholson Street, Dalby Queensland Australia 4405 from Friday 5th through to Sunday 7th of December, 2014.

The 40th Annual sale was a quality line up better than ever of 280 registered Australian Stock Horses.

 

Final results for the 2014 Dalby Australian Stock horse Sale;-

 

136 Mares offered. 69% clearance - 94 Sold for a total of $731,500 at an average of $7,782

The Top price Lot 111 was $30,000

 

99 Geldings offered, 80 sold for a clearance of 81%, for a total of $482,800, an average of $6035 with Lot 229 top price at $20,000.

 

14 Stallions offered with 8 sold for a clearance 57% for a total of $123,500 and an average of $15,438. Lot 216 top price for $30,000.

 

Overall of 249 horses offered, 182 sold at a clearance of 73% for a Gross of $1,337,800 and an average of $7,351

2014 Sale Incentive & Open Draft Program

 

The 2014 Dalby Stock Horse Sale Open and Incentive Drafts 2014 programs received Nominations from all over Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory resulting in an extremely high level of competition.

 

The Morgan Bros. Open Draft was taken out by Cameron Webster on ‘Leon’ with a score of 176.

The Oakey Beef Exports Future Champions ‐ 5 years and under Sale Incentive Draft was won by

Ben Hall on ‘Weston’s Shaker’ with a score of 168;

 

The O'Shea's Windsor Hotel Aged Champions ‐ 6 years and over Sale Incentive Draft was won by

Jim Daley on ‘Colway Secret’ with a score of 168 and The Donrica Stock Horse Stud Gelding Incentive was won by Daniel Richards on ‘Kooloombah Von Hammer’ with a score of 168 and sincere thanks is again extended to Gwen McMillan for her continued support of the Sale Incentives.

 

Ben, Jim and Daniel, the three winners of the coveted Incentive Draft Programs also competed in

a 1 round Shoot Out for the Beresford Saddlery Triple Incentive Best of The Best title immediately following the Finals which was taken out by Jim Daley.

40th Anniversary Sale Drinks on the Deck

Dalby Stock Horse Sale Drinks on the Deck was a fitting tribute to the Darling Downs Branch of the Australian Stock Horse Society's 40th Anniversary Sale. 

 

Hundreds of ASHS Members, Sale Vendors & Buyers, DDASHS Sponsors and Patrons joined ASHS President David Wilson, Darling Downs Branch President Jim Ryan and Committee to celebrate this milestone event with industry stalwart and long time Dalby Sale supporter Mr Angus Lane as MC on Saturday evening following the Sale Parade and Working Horse Demonstration.
