The Dalby Stock Horse Sale Weekend has continued to go from strength to strength since our partnership with GDL as Selling Agent in 2010 heralded the new era.

As a Committee, we have worked hard to re-establish the Sale Weekend and restore it to the heights of success it has previously achieved.

Our Branch Members have a deep sense of responsibility to our Breed and the Sale.  We have capitalised on our successes and learnt from our mistakes.  We have bucked in and made a few changes to proceedings where necessary to streamline the weekend.

We feel that we have reclaimed Our Sale’s integrity and position and are able to deliver to our Vendors, Buyers, Sponsors, Community and Supporters consistently solid results, and a really great weekend to wind up the year!

We extend our sincere thanks to these Sponsors, Supporters and Volunteers who contributed financially or in kind to enable this weekend to take place; -

Lyn Litzow, our tireless Draft Announcer.  Draft Judges Tim Carlill and Stephen Sheppard and the Committee members such as Jess Attewell our Secretary and my wife Bec for their coodination of the nominations and everything else that goes into keeping this Sale Weekend running.

Our Branch Members and volunteers; - the men and women behind the scenes putting away cattle, shifting panels and doing the hard yards that no one sees.  Thank you.

O’Shea’s Windsor Hotel who delivered a first rate meal at the Great Northern Bar.  Col Hunt and his Team also kept our DDASHS Bar adjacent to the Sale Arena packed to capacity throughout the weekend by providing icy cold beers and first rate hospitality.

Martin's Transport who were our Open Draft Sponsors and provided safe, efficient transport for our Draft Cattle that were so generously provided by Oakey Beef Exports and Acland Pastoral.

Gwen Macmillan of Donrica Stock Horse Stud for again supporting the Gelding Incentive Draft and all our valued supporters who provided prizes.

Camm Agriculture who proudly presented The Double Dan Horsemanship Show on Saturday evening followed up by Mik Oberle who worked his usual magic over revelers and kept everyone kicking up their boots well into the night.

Erica Stewart of Empress Enterprises who managed our Website, Social Media and Sale Weekend Promotions and PR.

Margaretta Travers of Bizzy Images, Sarah Coulton of Coulton's Country Photography and Sue Waldron of Sue Waldron Photos for capturing our Weekend and providing professional images for us and you.  Please visit our website to obtain the links to their pages to purchase copies of their images and support these talented, professional photographers.

And to our extensive list of sponsors and supporters who provided services or products throughout the Weekend to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We thank you.  We hope you were well supported throughout the weekend and that you will continue to work in partnership with us for many more Dalby Stock Horse Sale Weekends to come.

Since partnering with GDL as Selling Agents in 2010 we have seen a steady incline and the DDASHS are once again indebted to our trusted Selling Agency.

GDL’s Auctioneers and Agents have worked hard to deliver a high caliber registered Australian Stock Horse Sale which this year saw selling take place over 2 days with the re-introduction of the Saturday evening ‘Twilight Sale’.

GDL also secured the Cattle for the Sale and Working Horse Demonstrations. We extend our sincere thanks to Burenda Angus for allowing our Sale Vendors and their horses, the opportunity to work with a great quality line of Angus heifers.

We would like to thank Dalby General Steel for their sponsorship of the panels for the Showgrounds to make up for horse accommodation and Sale Arena. This was a huge sponsorship and we are very appreciative of this such a massive contribution.

We, as a Committee, do not underestimate the amount of work that goes into cataloguing and undertaking an Auction Sale of this caliber.  GDL really do themselves proud by adhering to their motto “Do it Simply.  Do It well.”

We were very pleased with an excellent result for Mr Kirkby who's mare achieved the top price of $43,000 and that of all our Vendors for the Sale.

We cannot do what we do without the support of our Vendors, Buyers, Committee, Agents, the community of Dalby and our Breed Society, The Australian Stock Horse Society.

We are very proud to be able to pull off a weekend like we have and be able to come together not just to celebrate ‘the breed for every need’, but the camaraderie of our Stock Horse culture and community.

Please visit our website www.darlingdownsashs.com.au to obtain the full Sale Overview, Campdraft results and  more images from the weekend.

Keep up to date via our Facebook page which has been extremely well supported throughout the year, also continuing to grow from strength to strength.

If you have a moment, please take the time to complete our Feedback Survey to make sure we can continue to develop our Sale Weekend.

Our sincere thanks once again and we look forward to seeing you again next year at Australia's Premier Australian Stock Horse Sale.
