Welcome to the Darling Downs Branch of the Australian Stock Horse Society website.
The Darling Downs Branch of the Australian Stock Horse Society supports and runs a variety of events which have the basis of promoting the versatility of the great Australian Stock Horse - the “Breed for Every Need”. The largest event in the calendar of the Darling Downs Branch is the annual Dalby Australian Stock Horse Sale, which is held each December.
The Dalby Stock Horse sale has long been known as the premier Approved Stock Horse Sale in Australia and is now in its 37th year. Over the years it has continued to break sale records and provided many of Australia’s top performance horses in all fields. The sale doesn’t concentrate on one particular sport and provides an avenue for every person, including polocrosse, campdrafting, showjumping, eventing and many others. The committee is working very hard to ensure that the sale improves every year. The Dalby Showgrounds provides an excellent venue which includes an undercover all weather arena and numerous other facilities which ensure comfort and satisfaction of all concerned. The Committee is on a continual improvement process for the grounds and amenities.

Whether it be in the campdrafting arena, on the polocrosse field, in the pony club ring, competing in dressage, eventing, showing, challenges or team penning, our branch members are involved and love promoting this great breed for every need. You too, can become part of it!
